stepping stones mentoring

providing supportive, child-centred mentoring to build confidence, emotional resilience and self-belief through trust, practical strategies and the power of sport.

About Me

Behind Stepping Stones Mentoring

I’m a proud dad of three and a true family man, and supporting children and families is at the
heart of everything I do. For the past three years, I have worked within a Primary School SEND
department, holding a range of roles that have allowed me to support children with diverse
needs both emotionally and academically.

My experience includes extensive 1:1 work with children with SEND, serving as a Nurture Lead,
and as an Inclusion Mentor. In this role, I supported children to feel safe, valued, and included
within school life. I work closely with pupils to break down barriers to learning, social interaction,
and emotional regulation, helping them develop healthier coping strategies.

Alongside this, I was also an Early Help Lead, supporting families who may be facing
challenges for a wide range of reasons, and a Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring
children’s wellbeing and safety are always prioritised.

Inclusion is a huge passion of mine. I strongly believe that sport plays a vital role in breaking
down barriers, building confidence, and creating opportunities for children with SEND to feel
part of a team. Seeing children overcome challenges, access activities they once found difficult,
and take part in both inclusive and competitive games is something I find incredibly rewarding.

I bring empathy, patience, and genuine care into every session, aiming to create a safe,
inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child can thrive.

Our Programs

"Customized Journeys for Every Individual."

Discover our mentoring programs customised for your child and family. Our committed mentors motivate and support your child in achieving their full potential.

Movement & Fitness

Strengthening

Activities such as running, cycling and fitness-based games help children release energy, improve mood and reduce anxiety. These activities support both physical and mental wellbeing, helping children feel more balanced, focused and ready to engage.

Team & Social Sports

Sportsmanship

Sports including football, basketball, tennis and badminton provide opportunities for children to develop communication skills, teamwork and cooperation. Through these activities, children learn how to interact with others in a positive way, build friendships and feel a sense of belonging.

Focus & Skill-Based Activities

Resilliance

Activities like table tennis, pool, snooker, and bowls promote concentration, patience and self-control. They create a calming environment, especially beneficial for children who may feel overwhelmed, allowing them to build confidence at own pace. These activities foster courage, resilience, and self-belief, demonstrating that children can try and new things.

Parent

"The girls always spoke highly of Mr Green, always leaving school with a funny anecdote or something that had cheered them up. In 2024 and 2025, the girls suffered a series of bereavements in a relatively short space of time, and each time Mr Green was there to support them and provide activities to cope. When talking to my girls, they have said that he is a 'good person' and knew that they could speak to him whenever they needed to.

Mr Green always communicated well with parents, and will speak to them if there were ever any issues or concern. We have now moved to Cornwall, but the girls always when speaking about their time at their previous school, always mentions Mr Green!'

"Nathan Green is a kind, caring and altruistic individual. My son went through a stage of not wanting to attend school and Nathan supported him throughout this tricky period. He truly helped my son gain his confidence back and really supported him by understanding the importance of attending school and any worries he had. I will always be grateful of Nathan for not only allowing my son to grow and smile everyday, but also providing a Mum who needed reassurance that her child was ok."

"Mr Green is truly one of a kind. He worked closely with our son Freddy due to his SEN needs at Aylesford primary school. As he was the only male member of staff at the school Freddy

quickly gravitated to Mr Green and grew a strong bond. Mr Greens humour, light heartiness, kindness and fresh fun approach to learning really made Freddy enjoy learning again, at times when he would struggle, feel he couldn't do it and that he wasn't the same as the other children, Mr Green had a way of making him feel like he had this superpower and with a smile, a sprinkle of humour and some jokes he could achieve anything"
